His previous roles in Lambda Education Pty Ltd and Maxlife Care Pty Ltd(Co-founder) further emphasizes his expertise in compliance, quality assurance, and innovative solutions for enhanced customer satisfaction.
Neeraj’s educational foundation includes a Master’s in Information Technology and Diploma in Community Services and Leadership and Management, underpinning his strategic approach to business growth and his adeptness in navigating the complexities of the healthcare and social services landscapes.
Competent, educated and dynamic are traits that well describe the efficiency of Mr. Chandra Sundaresan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of the Business School (TBS) that has its principal campus located in Campsie, NSW, with branches in Evans Head and Canberra and extends offshore to China as well. Chandra brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in the field of Information Technology and Learning and Development in the education industry, with over 19 years of focused experience in Vocational and Higher Education sectors at senior management level. His areas of expertise encompass operations, delivery, marketing, training, quality assurance, policy writing, governance, and compliance support with a strong knowledge of the Australian Qualification Framework, National Code, ESOS, ASQA & TEQSA regulations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science & a Bachelor’s degree with Distinction in Information Technology majoring in software engineering. He is also a certified trainer & assessor.
As a CEO, Chandra will be managing and overseeing the entire operations of The Business School, both onshore and offshore for the VET and ELICOS sectors. Some of these would include marketing, student recruitment, IT, admissions, student support departments as well as coordinating with the Director of Studies and the Academic Manager to ensure competency and quality are maintained across academics. Chandra’s skill lies in establishing clear policies and goals, meeting regulatory and accrediting bodies’ requirements, building relationships with partner institutions and industries which will ensure TBS reaches and maintains a high level of compliance. An extensive track record of success in quick succession, saw Chandra begin his career in 2000 teaching IT at universities to both undergraduate and post-graduate students. From there in 2005, he transitioned into management where he successfully served as a director of studies, academic director, deputy principal, managing director and marketing director for various institutes and universities. Chandra successfully managed a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Brisbane in 2013 under the ASQA regulations and he also established a new RTO in 2014 with approval to deliver courses onshore and offshore (Malaysia, Philippines and China). Along with this, he has been actively engaging in various professional development programs in these dual sectors.
Chandra has joined The Business School after serving as Vice President (Student Affairs) at King’s Own Institute (KOI), Sydney. Several key departments within the institute inclusive of Admissions, Student Support Services, Student Experience, Engagement and Counselling, Information Technology and Data Analysis fell under his purview. He has served on many committees and Boards, assisted the CEO and President in maintaining strong and effective relationships with partner institutions and industries and on numerable occasions was the 21C. His software engineering expertise and networks in the education industry has led him to represent his employer organisations on several national and international platforms and benchmarking projects.
Chandra intends to extend his services in the vocational and higher educational sector while his vision encompasses bringing a seamless pathway between competency based and academic learning in the realm of international education. He intends to delve further into the market for domestic students’ whom he intends to equip with staffing needs demanded by the local communities and industries, while adding a flavourful blend of international student mix to the dynamic of TBS resulting in the best diverse internationalisation of education, thus creating a milestone in Australian education.
With over 12 years of board experience, Mark’s expertise encompasses strategic planning, financial management, and governance risk and compliance across diverse sectors such as retail, property, and manufacturing. Mark has been instrumental in the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring organisational integrity and stability through robust governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. Mark’s academic credentials include an MBA (Marketing) from the University of South Australia, a Master of Law (Corporate and Commercial Law) from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Wollongong. Further enhancing these qualifications are a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia.
In recent roles, Mark has served as the Executive Director & Company Secretary at Dymocks Group, overseeing five business divisions, from strategy formulation to risk management. Notably, as CEO of Dymocks Education, Mark was responsible for the launch of a new business from conception to launch in five months, aligning ICT systems with the Australian and NSW Curriculum and escalating the business revenue to several million. As the Executive Director of Patons, a strategic overhaul under Mark’s leadership saw sales increase from $10m annually to $22m. Furthermore, as the Managing Director of Healthy Habits, Mark rejuvenated the retail brand, expanded the store network by 11% within a year, and achieved an 80% reduction in recurrent costs through ICT system implementations and positioned the business for a successful sale to a larger food group within the retail food sector.
Mark’s earlier career includes acting as the Company Secretary & Legal Counsel at a listed software entity and as Senior Legal Counsel at an ASX100 FMCG company. Mark’s extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, spanning 20 years, has seen deals ranging from $500K to $160m. With a solid foundation in legal strategy, Mark has spent two decades directing legal strategies to bolster business objectives, manage legal risks, and optimize legal costs.
Emeritus Professor John Loxton holds a BSc (Honours) and MSc (by thesis) from the University of Melbourne, a PhD from Cambridge University. He worked as a mathematician at the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University from 1973-1991. He was Vice-President (Chair) of the Academic Senate at Macquarie University from 1991-1994. He also holds a Graduate Diploma of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales. He served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Macquarie University from 1996-2006 and at the University of Western Sydney from 2007-2008, with responsibilities for strategic development of academic activities in teaching and learning, quality assurance in teaching and learning, internationalisation and partnerships. He continued as Senior Academic Adviser at Western Sydney University until 2019, working on professional accreditations and curriculum development in the School of Science and Health.
Professor Loxton was a Founding Director and Chair of the Academic Board of the Australian Institute of Business and Management in Sydney (trading as King’s Own Institute) from 2008-2023. He has been a Director and Chair of the Academic Board of the International College of Management, Sydney, since 2015. He was the Founding Dean of Nan Tien Institute in Wollongong from 2011-2014 and served as the President from 2015-2016.
Since 2017, he has been the Chair of the Chairs of Academic Boards Forum, an organisation which represents the independent higher education sector with a focus on academic governance. He has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Forum since 2015. He has prepared and presented reports on external reviews, benchmarking, performance indicators and retention. He has presented reports on surveys of members’ experience with registration and re-registration and assessment of academic risk.
He has conducted several reviews of governance in independent higher education institutes since 2016. From 2008-2011, he chaired assessment panels reviewing registration and accreditation applications for the NSW Department of Education and Training in its capacity as the regulator of the private higher education sector in NSW. He has been the Editor of the Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society since 2014 and Chair of the Editors’ Committee for the Society since 2021.
Edward Slade is the Managing Director of Schoolhouse Solutions Pty. Limited. Schoolhouse is a Corporate Authorised Representative of BR Securities Australia Pty Ltd, Australian Financial Services License (“AFSL”) number 456663. Edward graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons, 1st Class) and an MA in Modern Languages and Philosophy.
He has worked for over 30 years as an investment banker and corporate finance adviser, working with renowned investment banks including Flemings, BZW, Credit Suisse, ABN Amro Rothschild and CLSA. He has completed over US$20bn of transactions. Edward is currently a non-Executive Director and chair of the Risk Committee of the Institute of Creative Arts and Technology, an Australian higher education group focused on preparing students for careers in the fashion and design industry.
